What is Polyglot-Audio?

Polyglot-Audio is an open-source desktop application that translates live speech in both directions and routes the translated audio between your physical devices and compatible voice applications.

Does Polyglot-Audio use direct speech-to-speech translation?

Yes. Polyglot-Audio requires providers with streaming audio input and audio output and does not silently substitute a speech-to-text, text translation, and text-to-speech pipeline.

Which operating systems does Polyglot-Audio target?

Polyglot-Audio targets macOS, Windows, and Linux. It uses separately installed virtual audio routes such as BlackHole, VB-CABLE, or PipeWire.

Is Polyglot-Audio available for Android?

Polyglot-RX is the RX-only Android companion. It captures speech with the phone microphone and plays translated speech through connected wired or Bluetooth headphones. It does not provide desktop-style TX or bidirectional virtual audio routing.
